  • Encourage patient compliance with dietary and/or lifestyle modifications
  • Assist and supervise prescribed physical exercise or therapeutic activities
  • Assistance with housekeeping to preserve energy level
  • Encourage rest periods when needed
  • Management and reminder of medications
  • Medication teaching: mode of actions, desired effects, common side effects, contraindications, and when to seek a doctor
  • Maintain client safety and follow protocol in event of emergency
  • One-to-one sitter in hospital or other setting
